Hitty Melissa, Cast in Resin August, 2006: After sharing all of my early wooden shoulderheads with family and friends, I am now adding wooden shoulderhead Hitty kits to my product line. Watch my for sale page or join my notification list for available shoulderheads! I created my Shoulderhead Hitty Kit as a way to offer a less expensive full-sized Hitty. I figured that if a Hitty collector were willing to participate in the creation of her Hitty, adding her own fabric, wooden, or clay body, I could offer the signature Sara Cole Hitty head at lower price then for a full-sized doll. I created my first resin shoulderhead, professionally cast from a white ash original, to debut at the 10th Anniversary FOH Reunion in 2004. The response to the Hitty Melissa Model was wonderful and these shoulderheads have become a Sara Cole Hitty standby. I love working with the cast Hittys, experimenting freely with a wide variety of painting techniques and to see how different facial features and coloring can transform the same basic face into many different dolls. For those who wish to create their own original body from other materials such as wood or clay , or to use their own fabrics, Shoulderheads may be purchased separately from the fabric pack. The paper patterns and instructions for Hitty's body and clothing will still be included with the shoulderhead, to get you started, but the fabric pack is separate and optional.

Wooden Hitty Shoulderhead:
*A carved wooden shoulderhead, from basswood or butternut, painted with non-toxic liquitex acrylic paint and varnish
*Paper pattern and instructions for Hitty's fabric body and ensemble

Resin Hitty Shoulderhead:
*A durable, professionally cast resin Hitty shoulderhead with unique, one-of-a-kind handpainting by Sara. Shoulderhead is painted with non-toxic liquitex acrylic paint and varnish
*Paper pattern and instructions for Hitty's fabric body and ensemble

Optional Fabric Pack:
* 200-thread count muslin body fabric
* Printed cotton fabric and white-on-white muslin to stitch Hitty's dress and pantaloons
*A little narrow cotton lace and silk ribbon to trim Hitty's clothing
